Never a Night So Dark

It was an ominous time for the couple who have traveled from their home.
They had planned a vacation for the mountains as they loved them.
What so ominous was the blackened sky for it was  never a night so dark.
The fog had moved inward and made visibility hard to accomplish.
Trevor and Rachel, the couple, had converged on toward the mountains at a slower pace.
The night had engulfed them as if it seemed to swallow them whole.
Fear ran through their minds as they continued their journey.
Would they ever make it to the mountains was their concern.
Over the next couple of hours they cautiously continued.
Then as they began to see the mountains; in front of them, their hearts leaped  it seemed.
Night was almost over for the sun was peaking through the clouds.
Happy, at last, they reached destination and had a good time but always remembered the night that was never so dark.
