From the day we are but children growing
Until the day we realize we are growing old ..
There is so much in life that affect us all
Endless stories that simply never get told ..
Might be smaller things to some it's true
But to others it changed their entire life ..
Things that without us being aware guided us
Via all the happiest times and times of strife ..
Each and everyone of us often sit alone
During a moment of deepest reflection ..
And if any saw the expressions on our faces
At the time would not take so much detection ..
Always there are just those few things
That stick right there within our minds ..
That occurred to some we loved ever so
Traumatic events over time of all kinds ..
Many would say if they knew not to worry so
And that its all over and time to simply forget ..
But these things and moments still exist within
And within our very souls deepest memories set ..
The harm that came to the most innocent ever
Delivered by a few we cannot in life forgive ..
That ruined and took away a life of an angel
Who in this life had every beautiful reason to live ..
But we sit and we think and try to understand
Why these things that some do ever have to be ..
And yet the answers still do not come at all
As we sit and think alone in all sincerity ..
Despite all of religions quotes and thoughts
As well as those who say they know it all ..
But some things are just not that easy to forget
Or to forgive with these memories that often call ..
