 My today's thoughts

MAYBE

In the cool of the evening she sat pondering
alone on her front porch in deep wondering

Her muse carried her to another place another time
without cares or wants where love and peace did rhyme

She heard the wind as it passed
playing a melancholy song in the grass

The wind whispered a song of long ago
when life was clean and sweet with a special glow

It seemed to be calling to her for a renewal of her life
to begin again to make a fresh start after her life as a wife

If she could only put aside remembering the sorry
turn away from yesterday and look to tomorrow

The grass would play a happier tune of peace
maybe joy would come to stay after the sadness ceased
