A word fitly spoken,
Within the proper time;
Are words as a token,
That will help you to climb.
Just like apples of gold,
With a silver setting;
A yellow that is bold,
Shortly after sweating.
Just like a golden ring,
Gold ornaments refine;
The price that one would bring,
Like the best tasting wine.
So is a reprover,
On a listening ear;
A shaker and mover,
Obedient to hear.
Like the coolness of snow,
On a fall harvest day;
As the sun makes it glow,
Before it turns to gray.
A messenger you trust,
Who will take what you send;
Is doing what he must,
In guarding to defend.
Like dense fog or dust storm,
Clouds and wind without rain;
Like the bees in a swarm,
All can be such a pain.
So is the one, who brags,
Of gifts he never gives;
And his conceit just drags,
On the way that he lives.
With patience you persuade,
A ruler up on his throne;
With confidence displayed,
A soft tongue breaks a bone.
