Musings by The Poet Loriet
Butter Burger Muse
Teehee~another joint effort poem that my nine year-old daughter, Morgan and I wrote together~ Will also be on Morgan's website:
http://www.poetrypoem.com/morgansmusings
I found my muse in a butter burger,
had been searching in flower gardens,
spectacular fountains, Grecian statues--
It was there all along,
concealed in a butter burger!
I smell the poetry flowing thru hot steam.
Erato awakens in me as I watch the chef
lovingly handle a ripe juicy tomato.
Thalia appears in laughing green pickles.
Clio and I research the history
of an American burger, and I know
Calliope would be proud of
its heroicness and perseverance.
Melpomene and Euterpe would be
morbidly thinking of their own mortality
as they become fascinated with its digestion.
Polymine pantomines consuming it
as her mouth waters.
Terpischore would have danced
to the sizzling sound, and
Urania and I explore
the inner space of
onion slices.
Mmmmmmm, I can't wait to eat it!
