An Unopened Book

The Lone Politician

Intrempidly he walk forward among his peers.
He stood tall, standing alone on ceromony.
The room fell silence so that they may hear.
He spoke confidently, his speech filled with acrimony.
You my friends have been blinded by greed.
Have deserted your calling of your sacred position.
Even now as I speak many of you take no heed.
You have abandoned your campaigns vision.
Through your selfishness you've corrupted your mind.
Your decisions are made by the way of thinking how you may benefit.
Your words are hazy, blurred and smeared on the oath you signed.
You make up laws so that your lies maybe justified by it.
A flag that you walk beneath each day, symbols you are blind to.
Actions you make words you speak mock the structure of our country.
Other governments laugh at the garbage we have to push through.
Are we so lost, so blind that we cannot see the need of moral recovery.
I ask you to please implore within your soul, your hearts.
Try hard to become a solution not another problem that needs to be fixed.
Use your time here in these walls to accomplish greatness, to play your parts.
Remember the words of the oath you made, remember a nation of bliss.
His arms drop to his side as he made a final glance at those assembled there.
Some men and women stared at him with a stern expression.
But he noticed to some his words had reached, what difference had he made.
Did his words fall upon deaf hears did he make any impression.
A smile crept upon his face one thing for sure they will remember this day.]
