My Childhood Memories of Thanksgiving Day

Going to school was a great thing for me for I loved to go.
There came the holidays that we'd celebrate and have some time off.
It was so very nice to have Mom prepare the turkey and the other things she'd make for the meal.
There was always enough food to eat and her  biscuits were to fight for.
Christmastime came along and the people we'd meet on the street seemed more like family than strangers.
No one was afraid as they are today of speaking to a person of whom they haven't met.
These are the things that really mattered to myself and that of my parents.
My older brother was non-committal on the matter for all he wanted to do was play.
One of the things I loved so well was the music from the churches we had; in our city.
They would play the songs of the faith and also of the Christmas carols.
Your heart would rejoice with hearing them being played after the sun went down.
You could look around you and see the neighborhood that was so meaningful and special.
There were never any times of  being tired of hearing the bells peeling forth their music.
Joy encompassed our beings and made the time of growing up so special and loving
I would love to recapture the feelings again I felt  back then and relive the experiences.
