The Non-sellable Christmas Tree

There was  Steven Forbes all of eleven years of age.
He was from a poor family for his dad had passed away when he was six.
Mother did all she could with the talent of dressmaking.
Sewing for the ladies and the men for their attire was her only means of support.
She had a few dollars from one of the dresses she made and sold to a lady of means.
Giving some of it to Steven, he thought of having a tree for Christmas.
So, he went to the place where they were selling the trees and wanted to find one suitable.
The vendor showed him all the trees but couldn't afford any of them.
Then, he saw the non-sellable tree.
Wasn't too many branches to work with but it would have to do.
He had some ornaments from a previous Christmastime to put on the tree.
So, he pondered what he was going to do and paid the vendor for the tree.
Proudly, taking the tree with him; showed it to his mom, Rachel Elizabeth.
A smile crossed her face as he placed the tree; in the corner.
Steven had paid the vendor; as we said, one dollar and fifty cents.
Putting the silver colored garland around the tree it was now complete.
I believe the Lord even smiled at what He saw.
Joy was there for the two as they viewed the tree with the decorations.
Having this tree meant the world to Steven and Rachel Elizabeth.
