Dad Was My Role Model

The things Dad did I wanted to do as well.
There are some things today I am guilty Dad did all his life.
One of the things that separates him from the rest is that he was a Christian years before passing away.
There are some things that I am not proud of doing and for these I ask the Lord to forgive me.
There are other things that the Lord has allowed me to do that are somewhat like Dad.
I praise Him for the freedom of being like my dad for he was my role model.
I am free to express myself as he did though he wasn't as verbose as I.
The Lord has given me plenty of things to say within my writing and this is where my dad and I are still somewhat connected for he was a great storyteller.
This is how it was with Dad and myself.
I am able to be free of encumbrances as he was which he enjoyed.
I am like him today for I feel the same as he did.
It is for sure I thank God for having my dad to be the man he was to my brother and myself.
