Leaving You Behind

It must be hard to love yourself
For your masquerade is clear
And the phony way you come across
Lets me know you're insincere.

Therefore, I choose to separate
And leave you far behind
Because you evidently think
That I'm completely blind.

I never approved your cowardice
And reluctance to take a stand
In defense of deep convictions which
Your conscience should demand.

But instead, you act much like a mouse
Too afraid to have your say
And fearing confrontation
Choose to look the other way.

Yes, I'll be leaving you behind
And the reason is, you see
That wimpy person you have been
No longer shall I be.
