'' How Can I Break Free ''

Of my wife I've had enough,
If she objects I'll say tough,
Her neck I'll take by the scruff,
This is how it's going to be.

Money is under my control,
Her complaints I'll not console,
I will ignore her begging bowl,
She'll be answerable to me.

What she needs I will buy,
Even if it makes her cry,
My sympathy will not apply,
That is my decree.

Holidays abroad are in the past,
The total cost's left me aghast,
Her spending though I did lambaste,
She would not agree.

Shoes, handbags and underwear,
Will be worn until they tear,
Though she'll say it isn't fair,
I'm her new trustee.

No more waste of food or drink,
With global warming she's the link,
The recycling bin has made me think,
There's far too much debris.

My new rules are so impassioned,
From now all spending will be rationed,
On austerity my will is fashioned,
I will let her see.

No more need for security guards,
I'm tearing up the credit cards,
It's all this deadwood one discards,
She'll even pay for tea.

Suddenly I let out a scream,
Then appears the boss supreme,
She say's you've had a nasty dream,
Can no one hear my plea?

Once again I'm standing here,
On the main street filled with fear,
Our bank account she's out to clear,
