Rhythm of the Run

Feeling the frustrations in my life build;
The negatives attempt to be instilled.
I lace up my Asics, head out the door;
Needing to find a road that I can explore.
My stride is steady, I’m not in any race;
The rhythm of the run, my natural pace.

Therapy is sought for my mind and soul;
Using my body’s ability to fulfill this roll.
My eyes wide open on the world ahead;
Drinking in the flavors, my shackles shed.
The energy spent from the reserves within;
The rhythm of the run, see my silly grin.

Hungry to feel the passion, my senses alive;
The run is my medicine, my way I survive.
Filling me with joy, and spending my juice;
A balm for my body, not ever an abuse.
The pain becomes pleasure, the burn excites;
The rhythm of the run, my soul always ignites.
