Celtic Scarf and a Pin
Celtic Scarf and a Pin July 23, 2014
At an east end pub at a Celtic Bar
Paradise was close, not very far
Music great, love every song
Feeling proud, I stayed so long
Fell in love with the Celtic song
Songs of the past, songs that are new
Songs of my culture and never blue
I'd had a few like the bhoys around
An old man stood without a sound
With a Celtic scarf and a shamrock pin
He stood alone and began to sing
He sang a song, it didn't take long
People around with tears in their eye
The old man sang and looked to the sky
It was a song about martyrs, the men of ten
The men that died for Ireland, we all said amen
He mentioned their names, every one
At the end of the song his deed was done
He straightened his scarf and kissed his pin
He smiled as he left with a big Irish grin
At an east end pub at a Celtic Bar
Paradise was close, not very far
