Dance to the Waves of The Swilly

Dance to the Waves of the Swilly               December 16, 2014
Rathmullen town we still ask why
O'Neill and O'Donnell the earls did fly
Bad news all around, leave or die
Goodbye to my country and my Irish sky
The ship sailed away, banished they say
They left their land was the price that they pay
Our leaders are gone with nothing to say
Never to return, sent on their way
Donegal cries beneath the Irish sky
Gone forever, we still ask why
They say the spirits of the leaders gone
Dance to the waves of the Swilly
Rathmullen town we still ask why
O'Neill and O'Donnell the earls did fly
