Australia's Loss of InnocenceWe were as far away as the evil of this world would show, We're now a minute away from what the world will know, As that cowardly imbecile inflicted his hostages with fear, The loss of a nations innocence and a way of life held dear, Lessons must be learned, why this evil man walked free, Psychopathic offences a legacy our court system let be, This is too high a price to pay, our spirit should be as one, We can only look back in horror, what now can't be undone, I think of the sheer terror those poor souls trapped within, Ordinary people with ordinary lives, a fight for survival begin, Police did what they could, having all hostages safety at stake, Sydney came of age today, this evil ideology a must to break, We're a peace loving nation, supporting what's right and true, We're a country of tolerance, with a character being true blue, No longer naive, the pain of Bali and Sydney etched in our soul, Our strength of "mateship" means you attack one you attack all.
