Swiftly Passing

So swiftly does each year pass,
from flowers bloom to snowy grass
From decorations to light the night
to sweltering days with sun so bright

And I have watched within my world
the scenes to change like flags unfurled
I contemplate like leaves that fall
the swiftly passing of them all

How sad to all that comes to end
and joyous, to begin again,
a day, season or year anew
to change our stance and faith renew

Give praise and laud and merry make
Each end creates new in it's wake
Solemnly end another year
in hope to greet the new with cheer
