 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

Do not punish me, O Lord,
Let anger not turn to wrath;
Nor let my plea be ignored,
Show compassion down this path.

Discipline not in a rage,
Having pity on me Lord;
Lock me not within a cage,
Help me be in one accord.

I have trembled from the quake,
You are strong and I am weak;
Through fearfulness my bones shake,
For refuge is what I seek.

My soul has been in deep fear,
Not knowing if I will be;
In the future to be near,
You to be able to see.

Save me through mercy and grace,
Rescuing me from this death;
As to join You in Your place,
While waiting with each breath.

In death, no one remembers,
Lying deep within their grave;
To feel the burning embers,
For I was a sinful slave.

I am worn out from groaning,
My eyes flood my bed with tears;
As I confess my moaning,
Causes an increase in fears.

Even though through such belief,
Faith seems to come and go;
And causes all of this grief,
Defenseless against my foe.

I just cannot get away,
I am a captive to shame;
Forgive me because I stray,
As I confess to proclaim.
