 just thoughts

Alone in a Facility

The old man was dying

Crumpled heart and body

His last days are lived

Alone in a facility

His memory has faded

Random thoughts fire

Confusion now his friend

Yet he still has his moments

His body fails him constantly

Falling, without any balance

Unable to go to the bathroom

Alone in a facility

Time passes slowly

Or does it even pass at all

Suspended between life or death

Waiting for the light

Death lingers in the hallway

Life’s precious fire

Is now only one last ember

Alone in a facility
