Anaconda   (Portland 2004)

snap back your
writhing
studded tongue
Portland

hinged unhinged
you speak
you squeal
you hiss
your tongue forked in an ugh-ly sssss
speak the freakish
grunting language of an anaconda
from the
coiled curled tape measure
of your
ugh-ly studded tongue

oh this ain't no kind
ab bra cadabra magic
I feel your mean brand of unkindness
encircling me with its crude infinity and
threatening to smother me with more of your
putrified words

all that Portland swagger
hurl, spit and spin

Its so meaningless and full of itself
made up of un-kept unkempt promises
and Babylonian myths
slither your serpentine lies

Portland
your dark streets are peopled
with robots with saturnine eyes
who see hear speak no evil
but live with it in their souls

snap back your studded tongue
anacondas
I won't listen anymore
to your gutter energy
your rabble sniping

I'm done.

Written in 2004....must have been a very interesting year in P-town for me.
