Bright and Cheery Was the Day

Bright and cheery was the day
A songbird flew sky high
In vivid shrieks a mother screamed
Atwart the scene nearby!!!

For see, from out of a toy-strewn path
Her joy-filled baby laughed
A drooled on toy he firmly held
Amidst a strong updraft.

An innocent light gleamed in his eye
As he drooled glibly on his toe
Then raised his head and OH!!
Something fell with a sickening THUD!!!

And there upon moist ground lay burgered….
A potato bug!!!!
