A Most Rewarding Week Was This One

Dad and I were the ones who were at the house by ourselves.
Ronnie and Lyle made it all the way from  another state to ours.
We had a time of hugging the other and telling them how happy we were to be together.
Ronnie and Lyle found accommodations at a nearby motel.
Close enough for them to come to see  Dad and me.
The things we did was a thrill to Ronnie and Lyle.
We took a trip over to Beaufort and saw the houses there.
Went to the Fort Macon State Park and took the tour.
Had a delicious meal at the Sanitary Restaurant and it was a special day all the way around.
The week flew by and it was now time to say so long to my family.
It was an ominous bleak day for us but it didn't overshadow the joy we had.
I remember giving Ronnie and Lyle a kiss as they returned one to me.
I was so proud of these two special men for making the trip all the way here and especially never knowing us from before.
Time has since passed and  Dad is now; in Heaven.
Lyle is the same as we remember him and the caliber of man he was.
Today we have ourselves for Ronnie and myself to live on.
