Faint as the breath of noon,

His heart beats for the last time.

The thrusting pain of the scourge,

the deadly stench of the thorns,

the heavy weight of the cross…

the desolation of His comrades.

What could be more worse than these?

His thirst never quenched....all a part of His passion.

Sweat and blood, the remnants of His humility,

clanging swords unsheathed in disbelief.

The hush and whisperings of the sneering crowd

while His lips bespeaks of His grace and forgiveness.

Why ask, how much He cares, how much He loves…

Isn’t it more than we can imagine or discern

That He gave His all...opening His arms wide,

relinquishing to death that we might be saved

From our iniquities?

Now, Why ask?

"And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself." ~John 12:32

"There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved." ~Acts 4:12

"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of his Son Jesus cleanses us from all sin." ~1John 1:7

"For in Him dwells the whole fullness of the deity bodily, and you share in this fullness in Him, who is the head of every principality and power. In Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not administered by hand, by stripping off the carnal body, with the circumcision of Christ. You were buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised with Him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. And even when you were dead [in] transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he brought you to life along with him, having forgiven us all our transgressions." ~Colossians 2:9-13

"But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us." ~Romans 5:8

"As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." ~John 15:9-13
