An Unopened Book

You saved me

I was lost, more than just down on my luck.
Disconnected, more than a little out of touch.
Then you came along, put wind into my sails.
With your faith, love and encouragement.
Explained that I can succeed where I once had failed.
Since that moment when you had come into my sight.
You began changing me; you started saving my life.

Every new morning that finds the dawns sun.
You show me everything that I have really won.
A love unlike the others I had felt before.
Like the warmth from the summer's sun.
Waves that slam down upon a rocky shore.
A beacon to a lost soul; a perfect guiding light.
You began changing me; you started saving my life.

You saw something not broken just a little hurt.
Really saw me for who I am, knew what I was worth.
Dragged me back from the shadows I was so deeply in.
You told me it's time to let my broken heart beat again.
I am so grateful to have you, to know your beautiful light.
You began changing me, you started saving my life.
