My favorite color is Candy Apple Red
I read the country poets poem about
growing up in the south and her friends
being all races and colors
Kathy and sharing a bus with a lady
Both had lost their husbands and mutual feelings
On a trip to Africa the lady next to us
Was from India but raised in South Africa
She was going to her best friends funeral
As they talked they shared losing loved ones
We are all the same it is not color or race
Might I add on religion separated by wealth
We have a new penpal, "Dear Auntie Sharon!"
The funeral is over I am heading home
I feel as though I have meet a lifetime friend
there's no color, no race, but there is good and bad
In the world of colors and religions we need to get along
In my lifetime my best friends have been black--brown
Puerto Rican, Spanish, Japanese, Russian and Jewish
I know no boundaries of color except for those who hate me
This week my favorite color is Blue and green--Go Seahawks
There I have done it made some people hate me
