We have many symbols that we have place in this nation.
Each one was placed a great cause for our celebration.
These symbols speak plainly and loud about our liberty.
A great statue of a lady on an Island stands beautiful and tall.
Beaconing others from different nations; seek it out available to all.
In Pennsylvania an old broke bell was placed, yet proudly stands.
Although no longer able to ring, still a reminder for all in this land.
The Bald Eagle, a bird which our nation has chosen to be our own.
A great strong bird that stands proud; itself a great symbol alone.
The great Seal of The United States Of America in itself is one.
A seal created so the world would recognise the battle we've won.
The most common symbol which is our flag that is proudly flown.
From our Nations Capital, in front of business, warehouses and homes.
On our cars, construction sites, entrances to mines, on soldiers arms.
Who continue to fight for liberty, keeping us safe from any harm.
That flag proudly waves in the wind day after day without any rest.
A symbol of liberty that has stood through time, has passed the test.
With so many reminders placed around us, seen everyday as we live.
Live our lives with the liberty that so many have fought a forever gift.
Yet do we remember our freedom, our rights when these symbols are seen.
Do we take any moment to think about what it cost, what they really mean.
Or have we lived so long with the freedoms gift that we seem to forget.
Push it back in our minds, recall them at special occasions, avoid the unpayable debt.
Maybe not on purpose but, maybe the next time you see the Old Glory waving.
You will stop for a moment and realise what it is that these symbols are saying.
