Bora born

Swelter dawn_

Topped the scales today
forty degrees they say.
Body bared all night
sleep came with dawn's first light.

Towel on pillows spread
dries a leaky soaked head.
No sea breeze floats by
case windows opened wide.

Summer storms long gone
seasons stretch, something's wrong.
Where's yirrpa's wet shawl
cloak the skies, shield us all.
