The Sunny Days of Yesteryear

In my time of being a boy, I'd always love the summer.
For it meant when I was able I'd get on my brother's bicycle.
I would ride like the wind was chasing after me with a great amount of freedom.
Jesus was even then my Protector for I had an accident with the bicycle.
Looking up to the sun I closed my eyes and as I continually rode I hit the clothesline.
My accident was more than a bad lip for I had lost six front teeth, part of the gum and the bone,
I was screaming while still at home and also at the dentist's office.
Then for years I was without any front teeth so I kept my hand over my mouth when I laughed.
Church came into play for myself and was faithful to it.
It was a most pleasant part of my life for I loved to sing and also listen to the messages.
Mind you this was all; in the summertime.
Joy enraptured my heart as I was given a set of dentures for the ones I had lost.
It is something I will always remember and count so highly I had been given.
Jesus was always good to me and had furnished a need I had.
The summer days were always something special for my birthday is ; in the summertime
