An Unopened Book

The Spring Thaw

The snow melts off the mountain tops.
Increasing the raging waters of the rivers.
Flooding nutrients to the plants below.
New green leafs make an appearance on branches.
That were once barren from the fall leaves of fall.
Little buds of flowers peek up from the ground.
Where they hid from the bitter winter's chill.
Birds in their flight return with a joyful song.
Animals scurry about the hillside with energy.
Stored from a winters sleep now in a hurry.
Even the bright sun shines brighter; warmer.
Helping melt the snow off the mountain tops.
