No Need For Ladders
To my son-in-law to be Roddy who is 46 years old today the 25/2/15 love always Penni xxx
No Need For Ladders
Long ago in Cape town
A laddie came to be
Lived his life in Africa
But Scottish don`t you see
He played among the killer snakes
But never was afraid
Of animals out in the bush
For friends of them he made
He grew up well, became so tall
He almost touched the sky
He hung a mirror for me once
But it was much too high
Hey I said now look my son
I cannot see in that
I can he laughed and brought it low
His humour`s just like that
He can change a light bulb
And has done that for me
No need for ladders for this man
Or tip toes don`t you see
He has a heart that`s made of gold
And he can be so clever
He want`s to wed my daughter Tam
And live with her forever
Today my lad you`re forty-six
I hope your dreams come true
For you deserve the very best
That life can give to you
Life has not been easy
But you have braved the heat
Just kept keeping on in life
And following the beat
Have a happy day today
May everything be grand
Welcome to this family
And let me shake your hand
