Dad Is Included Among the Righteous

You have read many poems about Mom that  you probably know her well.
There is also Dad who is included among the righteous.
Having given his life to Jesus the same night Mom did was not a happenstance.
It was planned and delivered from God to us their children.
Joy fills my heart of knowing where the two are today for I know they are; in Heaven.
Jesus kept His promise as He always does and allowed them to walk through the pearly gates.
Towards the end of his life he contracted dementia.
It was a sad time for all of us that were left behind after Mom passing away.
But  you couldn't shake his believing; in Jesus.
I am most proud of my dad for the way he was before dementia took over.
He was a most independent man of whom I  had learned to be myself.
Dad didn't need anyone to hold his hand while he decided this issue or another.
Dad was always punctual when it came to his work life.
He instilled this within myself as well.
Dad was a most revered man by so many others myself included.
Today, he is on the golden avenue waiting for me to arrive.
