Romantic Notions By Ivy Rose      144396 Poems Read

At night when the two of us
lie next to each other
I think of how our relationship
is a mixture of fiery spices
and the smoothness of aged whiskey
much like the taste and hot blend
of Old Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire.

The two of us often frequent
our favorite café, The Whiskey Bistro.
where we savor the hot cinnamon kick
that blends with the smooth taste
of Old No 7 Jack Daniel's Whiskey.
It heightens our senses with its savory aroma
and reminds us that we need fire to warm our love.

We are now a blend of fiery desire
and the smoothness of the comfortable.
Our lives have blended together so well
that our relationship has only one flavor.
"Some things  just never  change.  And shouldn't"
just like the fiery spice in the cinnamon liqueur
of the Tennessee Fire that makes our love thrive.
