I walk along the river

I walk along the river,
This river I know well. ..
The bends and turns the river takes,
From its beginning and its end.
To walk along the Sandy curves,
And climb upon its rocks,
To where the falls do roar,
With a deafening fright.

I stand upon the fire bridge,
That crosses where it slows,
And gaze into the quiet pool,
Just beneath my feet.

I've walked along the river,
In the summer and the snows...
And seen it at its finest,
Autumn colors glow.

This river is a part of me. ..
It knows me oh so well,
To sit beside its waters,
And contemplate my life.

The sounds the river makes,
Along its well worn path. ..
Always seem to ease my soul,
And quiet down my mind.

This river was here before I came. ..
And will be when I pass.
