We've both said things,
Hurtful words that were void of tact,
Harmful words that we can't take back,
Words we both wish we could retract,
From tongues occasionally sharper
Than a scimitar sword,
Words that were really never in accord
Or in tune with our heart,
The heart that we have laid bare,
The one heart we share,
Forgivingly and fittingly we demonstrate we care,
By never being repulsed
Nor giving up on us,
Standing face to face,
Having the others support back to back,
Always getting back on track ,
Praying to Allah to strengthen us with what we lack,
Learning to hold our tongues...
Always holding on to each other,
Practicing respect,
Saying only the words that reflect our love,
Placing nothing else above,
Our commitment... to this...
Our love
