OPEN WATERS

The lakes and ponds well frozen,
To their deepest depths,
Covered in their winter coats....
Hardened like a stone.

The temperature starts rising,
Higher in the day,
It shouldn't be much longer,
The ice to melt away.

The little creeks are open,
The bigger ones now too.

And then the frozen waters,
Will shed their winter white. ...
and change to brilliant blue.
