Winter Ice (Life~Flows~Winter) By Cynthia Jones, www.PoetryPoem.com/poetryandshortstories10 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
Winter has taken an extreme toll
some streets are barely plowed,
but that's how the day flows
beneath a sky filled with clouds.
Life becomes so harsh
through Winter days and nights,
ice covers the trees outside
the chill can fill you with fright.
Ice on the streets outside
is about 4 or 5 inches thick,
some spots you can fall into
hazardous enough to break a hip.
The only thing that's nice enough
is the ice all over the trees,
a Winter sunset gleams through
as the branches shiver in the breeze.

The words in brackets at the top, are challenge words. The picture is a picture I took of the sunset yesterday afternoon when the sun was setting.
