If just your smile were mine today By EDWIN FLORES, www.PoetryPoem.com/poetry2231 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
Alone came knocking once again
It seems to think we are best friends
Reminding me it's just us two
Why reminisce of love I knew
Soft the hand that stroked my hair
Softer still when one was there
The moments spent I'd give this day
My life to them to have more days
Tire I do waiting for time
To live, to keep what once was mine
Not just a pleasantry to draw to near
But hold forever, forever held dear
Nights grow cold and all alone
Both much to bear, heart turns to stone
Awaiting fate to change the course
To joy, long last trampled remorse
