For my Father upon the departing of Mother
Perhaps
the leaves of falling from summer hope
left a forgotten memory
the slight powerful knowing
swims with the constant droning
noiseless sounds muffle against
the past rising out of sight it calls to venture closer
fleeting as it is
now becomes was
it rides the storm feeding dawns with promise
shows hope in the blossom of a rose chosen
just for the darkness when the stars begin to light
whispers stronger than a forgotten memory,
the brightest star sways above
I AM here always with the light that begins the opening
of the rose-
tenderly here holding you close
my love forever blossoms a star
for you
