the deep roar of joy
I want to find that deep longing
To laugh with a roar echoing around many walls
Demolishing those that serve movement around
The same mile rounding towards age without understanding why tears cannot come
before the deep roar of joy
I want to grieve the loss of the moment to be with
a friend walking against a morning blue
I still covet to claim hope that remains breathing
the warmth of afternoon walks hearing footsteps other than my own
I want to feel fullness that does not empty with the sunset
I want words flowing from eyes not disposed towards black and white
I want to believe the risk of knowing does not have to hurt
