Wives place themselves under their spouse, As they place themselves under God; The husband as head of the house, And should be respected and laud. The husband is over his wife, As Christ is the head of the church; Married for the rest of your life, Together through this life you search. Jesus Christ is your Savior, Making the church as His body; Show your love and He shines favor, Being humbled and not gaudy. Husbands must always love their wives, Just as Jesus Christ loves the church; Willing to sacrifice their lives, Like eagles warding on a perch. For Christ has made the church holy, By purifying through His Word; As He remains meek and lowly, And we ensure that it is heard. We can present it in glory, Without any kind of stain; As it goes down in history, Having no blemish to retain. Without wrinkles and without faults, That all husbands will love their wives; No violence causing assaults, In harmony throughout their lives. For your own body never hate, You take care and give it some food; As you should also compensate, Your spouse in a good attitude. For a man will leave his parents, And be united with his wife; As the person of importance, For the remainder of his life. Copyright © 2015 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
