Some people have told me,
About everything;
What they hear also see,
And all the joy you bring.
They told me that you left,
Everything behind;
Just like it was a theft,
As if you lost your mind.
The country you were born,
Is very far away;
Another place sojourn,
Is where you now do stay.
They told me of your life,
Where you live to embrace;
And now have a new wife,
That God has given grace.
The life you had before,
Filled with toils and grief;
And tempted by a lure,
But having no belief.
May the Lord reward you,
Having victory won;
Life changed remaining true,
All of which you have done.
For now you help others,
Having spiritual health;
Treating them like brothers,
As you are sharing wealth.
Just like an investment,
That you build in this life;
For your accomplishment,
God helps you through the strife.
So may you continue,
To be gentle and kind;
And all that you construe,
Gives you a peace of mind.
