the birds in the trees

The seasons past on to the next,
a new one just begins.
Trees once bare of life,
start to show the change,
small bud's fill the tips,
with the soon born leaves.

The birds that had long left us,
for the warming sun,
begin to reappear. ....
and fill the air with song.

At first a few, then many more,
to nestle in the trees,
and make their presence known,
and gladden all the hearts to see. ...
they finally return.
