Off to the woods the boys did go
To find the giant Gruffalo,
He lives in the woods they were told
It`s only if you`re brave and bold.
With wellies on their tiny feet
A path through the mud they did beat,
Then through the long grass they did go
To show their nerves was a no – no.
They stepped quietly over fallen trees
For he they didn`t want to displease,
Would he be their friend or their foe?
This was something they didn`t know.
They looked high and they looked low
They weren`t quite sure which way to go,
Was he hiding behind a tree?
They would have to wait and see.
With trepidation they walked on
Maybe he had upped and gone!
No, wait, what is that over there
It looks like a giant grizzly bear.
One by one they peeped round a tree
It was the Gruffalo they could see,
In a clearing he stood up straight
Deciding what should be their fate.
He decided they were too small
They were nothing near five feet tall,
They`d get stuck in his teeth for sure
And so their safety was secure.
Gingerly they edged nearer to him
Was their future bright or dim?
They realized he was no threat
He`ll not eat them well at least not yet.
