We are certain that we know Christ,
If we obey His commandments;
And love that we have sacrificed,
Will make spiritual advancements.
If you do say that you know Him,
But obeys not is a liar;
Because the truth looks mighty grim,
No thoughts of the lake of fire.
The truth is never within them,
For their soul has been filled with sin;
Eventually God will condemn,
Being too corrupted within.
Whoever is keeping His Word,
In him will have the love of God;
All from Jesus that he has heard,
And worships to honor and laud.
A perfected love as we know,
That we are in Christ as we live;
For His mercy and grace will flow,
For purifying and forgive.
Those who say that they do abide,
Also will walk as He has walked;
Never have anything to hide,
Only truth will be what is talked.
No new commandment do I write,
But an old one to take to heart;
For with love you are in the light,
That is giving you a new start.
For the truth does exist in you,
As the darkness does fade away;
For a light that is shining true,
That keeps you from going astray.
Those who say they are in the light,
Are in the dark hating others;
For darkness has blinded their sight,
About the truth of their brothers.
