Do you compare yourself to someone else?
Someone you'd like to imitate?
They're more at ease within a crowd...
Small talk is just a piece of cake.
They hold everyone's attention...
Folks seem to cling to every word.
O, the wish to be like William
Or like Beth, Billy, or Bird.
But, silly children that we are,
We've overlooked The Father's plan...
For He's made us all to be like Jesus
And not like any other man.
I do believe that I'm supposed
To let the Christ be Christ through me
And if we're all made in God's image
Isn't this how all should be?
Each of us has been created
To show Christ Jesus to the world.
No one can show Him quite like we can...
By letting who we are unfurl.
We might not sing like Sister Susie
Or teach or preach like Brother Paul.
But with the gift of sharing Jesus
Our God's graced us one and all.
It's up to us to hold that candle...
To let what Light we have be shown.
The smallest flame can be a magnet
To let the Precious Blood atone.
I write because I'm not a speaker...
So I'm sharing Jesus in my way.
It doesn't matter how we do it
But that we do it as we may.
Maybe you excel in cooking...
Invite some hungry soul to dine.
Your faith can be shared through the blessing...
A planted seed will grow in time.
Feel the need to be like others?
It's Satan's sly way to distract
You from being more like Jesus.
This, I promise you, is fact.
Why try to be like one another?
That's not what we are called to do.
O, let's be unified but different...
I will be me and please be you.

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer
I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life
I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me.
And we know that for those who love God
all things work together for good, for those
who are called according to his purpose.
For those whom he foreknew he also
predestined to be conformed to the image
of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn
among many brothers.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me
will also do the works that I do; and greater works
than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.
