Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

geishacountrypoetpoetry759

In those early years there were no fears, of love
No broken dreams of fantasy to touch
Where holding hands and making plans, were enough
To understand and comprehend what is love.

Time moved on, lovers gone, now just memories
Of all that’s past, of all that lasts into history
Love has proved too untrue, not forgiving
Life has proved all so hard just for living.

Broken hearts and broken lives greet each morning
Questioning our needs and our yearning
But as history moves on we are not learning
Just recycling the hate that is burning.

We are broken and crying out for guidance
But our voices are only lost in the violence
Can it be that no one really cares?
Maybe we are broken beyond all repair?
