Mom and I met at Central Washington college.
I because I accepted a basketball scholarship.
Found out school work was part of it. Took creative
Writing and discovered poetry. I was older than
most of my fellow students. Found amongst the students
my lovely wife. Some say I robbed the cradle. Trust me
she saved a wandering soul. I had no goals but find a job,
after six years in the military. She brought me
back to reality.
We shared a dream. As Our son climbed
on the platform,undergraduate work done at WSU, Go Gougs,
I was one proud father, Flash forward to today. Soon Grandson
well join Granddaughter at Wazzu with a third in waiting,
and soon all five Grandchildren well be college graduates.
Grandma and I proudly watching my son recieve his law
degree at Georgetown College. We sat proudly. Thinking of
how the dream began. I had a career ending injury and
basketball was replaced by reality. I met the woman
of my dreams:
My Son and Graudation Day:
Blue skies, a brook, a tiny bumble bee;
Seen on the walk we took you and me!
I wrote, "I love you on your palm."
The words out a ripple came back so calm.
The worry of practice back so strong
A lady bug---A tiny Garden snake,
Things of which our dreams we make!
Pity those who have never known,
An embryo this infant now fully grown.
This child born from our seed;
To face the world in it's time of need!
The world begins in cap and gown.
This love we both had found!
The day we met and shared an Especial look,
Holding hands, making plans, near a sparkling brook.
