I appeal to your elders,
To be spiritual leaders;
Reaching out as the holders,
As the spiritual feeders.
Being feeders of the Word,
A witness for Jesus Christ;
So in the church all have heard,
Just why He was sacrificed.
Keep repeating the story,
So it will be all revealed;
As you share in the glory,
That at one time had been sealed.
Be shepherds over the flock,
Since God has entrusted you;
To watch over and to talk,
How the Gospel being true.
Do not do this by constraint,
But willingly desire;
In reaching out like a saint,
So others can acquire.
Be not rulers over them,
Rather for gaining their trust;
Christ may easily condemn,
If you are not fair and just.
A crown of glory to give,
That will never fade away;
As you eternally live,
If your sheep trust and obey.
Young people have to adhere,
To what the elders will say;
And with God they must revere,
Trying not to go astray.
Most of all always be glad,
Worry not about this place;
Be happy and never sad,
Since the Lord has shed His grace.
