The Word of life existed,
Justly from the very start;
Although some have insisted,
Not so thinking they are smart.
We have heard and we have seen,
We have observed also felt;
Everything that has been,
As we sojourned where we dwelt.
We have seen to testify,
As we report all about;
Only the truth and no lie,
For not leaving any doubt.
We talk of eternal life,
From the Father now revealed;
For helping you cope with strife,
Available as your shield.
This is the life we have heard,
And seen hanging on the cross;
As the flesh came from the Word,
And then a sacrificial loss.
But it has bridged us the gap,
To the Father through the Son;
Making death as a short nap,
Triumph over sin is won.
For the incurable cure,
Will stop the affects of sin;
And in resisting the lure,
That is corrupting within.
For God is totally light,
No darkness is within Him;
All of which He does is right,
Gives you joy not feeling grim.
So by living in the light,
We also walk the same way;
Always doing what is right,
And never going astray.
