Welcome to My Poetry Site
Quietly the water laps
barely any sound
the smallest ripples on the surface
all movement can be seen
Branches swaying in the breeze
casting shade along the edge
Birds hover over head
suddenly to soar
then hang motionless in flight again
Resting in the air
The faintest sounds can be heard
from the farthest shore
The splash of fish, otters swim about
Cattails rustling, in the evening air
Long shadows take their form
thrown longer on the water
Then the peepers sing their song
so much that's all to hear
and with them leaves the setting sun
a chorus from natures choir
to close and end the day.
