Sugar On The Brain

I got candy on my brain
and the sugar has a hold,
Taffy and chocolate mints
make my thoughts go cold.

I eat a handful of sweets
every minute of every hour,
it adds up to be strong
and the reaction, it is sour.

I cannot think straight
when sugar feeds my brain,
It is hard to put it down
when taste buds don't complain.

Sugar comes from a plant
and chocolate, a cocoa bean,
The health benefits are there
but are hardly ever seen.

My mind is in a fumble
as I handle the current rush,
I'm inside myself with fervor
on the outside it's a flush.

If this poem sounds crazy
from the start to the end,
The sugar must be talking
and it's hard to comprehend.
